Traditional international removals are designed for furniture, pallets and full household moves. Ordinary parcel websites are designed around a single ready-to-ship box. Many customers sit in the middle: they are moving abroad with clothes, books, shoes, kitchen items, documents and other personal effects packed into several cartons.

That middle ground is where Megway can help. You can bring everything to our Northampton parcel centre, or complete the shipping form from home. Practical guidance

What should you take — and what should you ship?

Items that are heavy, bulky or not needed immediately can be better candidates for courier shipping than checked airline baggage. Clothes, books, shoes and many ordinary household effects are common examples, subject to courier and destination restrictions.

Keep passports, travel documents, essential medication, valuables and anything you need immediately with you. Before packing unusual items, liquids, batteries, food, aerosols or high-value goods, ask us to check whether the chosen courier and destination permit them.

Sending a suitcase? Check the courier before you book.

UPS does not accept suitcases as the outer shipping package. If you want to use UPS, place the suitcase inside a strong suitable box. Otherwise, choose another courier service that accepts the prepared luggage.

What affects the price of moving boxes abroad?

We avoid made-up “from” prices for a multi-box move because the real cost changes materially with the shipment details.

Personal effects still need a proper customs declaration

“Personal belongings” is usually too vague on its own. Customs declarations should describe what is actually inside: for example used clothing, books, shoes, kitchen utensils or personal documents, with sensible quantities and values.

If you are sending several boxes in one shipment, use one combined contents declaration covering everything across those boxes. You do not need to duplicate the same declaration for every piece in our form.

01.Can I ship several boxes at the same time?+
Yes. The Megway shipping form supports multiple physical pieces going to the same receiver. Tell us how many you have and, if completing the form from home, enter the weight and dimensions for each one.
02.Do I need a removals company?+
Not necessarily. If you are moving furniture, appliances and a full household, a specialist international remover may be more appropriate. If you mainly have a few cartons or personal effects, multi-box courier shipping can be a practical alternative.
03.Can Megway pack the boxes for me?+
We sell boxes, tape and protective packing materials and can help with packing preparation in store. Bring the items or existing boxes to our Northampton location and speak to the team.
04.Can you collect from my home?+
The form includes a home-collection option. If you choose collection, you need access to a printer so you can print and attach the courier label to every piece before collection.
05.Can I send suitcases?+
Some services may accept suitably prepared luggage, but carrier rules differ. UPS does not accept suitcases as the outer shipping package. For UPS, place the suitcase inside a suitable outer box or choose another appropriate service.
06.Do I declare contents separately for every box?+
No. In our international form, list all items across the complete shipment in one contents declaration. The physical boxes still need their own weights and dimensions.
